There’s no shortage of window and door companies serving Fort Washington. Here’s what separates us:

Fort Washington takes its name from one of the most consequential encampments of the American Revolution. Following the British victory at the Battle of Germantown on October 4, 1777, George Washington’s Continental Army — approximately 12,000 troops — withdrew to the Whitemarsh Valley heights and established a defensive position from November 2 through December 11, 1777. Washington used the elevated terrain of what is now Fort Washington, including Militia Hill, to fortify against British probes from Philadelphia. The Battle of White Marsh, fought December 5–8, 1777, saw British forces under General Howe march out to test Washington’s position, but Howe withdrew without a major engagement. On December 19, 1777, Washington’s army broke camp and began the march to Valley Forge. Fort Washington is the community immediately before Valley Forge in the arc of that extraordinary winter.
The Clifton House, built in 1801 and serving as the headquarters of the Historical Society of Fort Washington since 1937, stands within Fort Washington State Park as the community’s institutional memory — housing a museum and library of local history adjacent to the 493 acres of park that preserve the original ground. Fort Hill at the park’s western end marks the site of the original fort. Militia Hill, the neighborhood most prized by Fort Washington’s residents, sits adjacent to the park on the elevated terrain where the Pennsylvania Militia held its positions in 1777. The area’s first European settler, Philip Engard, arrived from Germany in 1728 and purchased 100 acres on what is now Susquehanna Road and Fort Washington Avenue — the Engard Family Home of 1765 remains a listed historical property in Upper Dublin Township, and the community was originally known as Engardtown.
Today Fort Washington’s residential character is built around spacious stone and brick Colonials on generous lots, the Fort Washington Office Park — 536 acres hosting over 100 companies including Toll Brothers headquarters, Honeywell, Aetna, and AccuWeather — and Germantown Academy, founded in 1759 as one of the oldest schools in America. With a median construction year of 1968 and 19.8% of homes predating 1940, Fort Washington’s housing stock spans from the older stone Colonials near the park to the postwar homes that fill the residential streets. At $575,600 median property value and an average household income of $203,478, these are homes that deserve quality installation. We install Andersen replacement windows throughout all of Fort Washington. Every window is a genuine Andersen product, installed by our factory-certified crews, and backed by Andersen’s industry-leading warranty.
